Ambrose Onwuegbuchulem, LGPC

Counselor

As a licensed graduate professional counselor (LGPC) and with my previous experience as a chaplain at the University of Maryland Medical Center Downtown Baltimore, I have acquired a wealth of experience on how to accompany people to find hope and healing. I believe in a non-reductionistic therapeutic approach that does not label the person according to their vulnerabilities or disorders but looks at the whole person in the beauty of their creation. In fact, my approach is to respect the beautiful in my clients because life is worth living and every human person can explore the beauty they have both inside and out. And I think this discovery can give birth to a new person and a life driven by purpose. Some of my therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Emotionally Focused Therapy; Play Therapy; Marriage and Family counseling; group process etc.

As we live through uncertain times, the need for therapy or counseling cannot be overemphasized. I provide a safe and sacred space for clients and through appropriate counseling skills, we can journey together to address the presenting problems and meet with set goals. My intention is to assist clients to attain true freedom so that they can develop resilience and coping skills to address everyday challenges.

I view this journey as an opportunity to deepen my understanding of human experience and to further develop my professional competencies. I am here to walk alongside you, offering reverence and support as we navigate your life challenges together.
